Pre-Xmas gifts received: a 5-ft-tall black minimalist lamp
shade with a 3-way light bulb, two bamboo placemats, a water glass with a purple
flower plus our picture inside and a cute purple bear spring toy for the car –
all from Banggoy! My dad and I were in SM a few days ago and we were checking
out that Pentax waterproof digital camera at Colours. He was so ready to pay
for it since it was offered with a six-month deferred payment term. Too bad the
store wouldn’t accept checks because they want it purchased with a credit card!
Alas! Nobody in my family has a credit card! My folks just don’t believe in
credit cards. *sighs* So that left me really heart-broken. So we went computer
shop-hopping to look for an external DVD burner instead. I couldn’t find the LG
model that I wanted. *double sigh* I guess some things will have to wait until
Christmas.
My parents wanted to try their luck at the casino last
Tuesday night. Together with the Cousin Club, we headed off to the Duty Free
shop when we arrived at Waterfront Lahug. They have all the dark chocolates I
want Santa to fill my stockings with for Xmas but too bad I’m so broke I can’t
even afford some Hershey’s Kisses. Dang! I went sniffing all sorts of perfumes
instead and I ended up with a mother-lovin’ migraine afterwards. Check out the
Xmas tree at the lobby. O Tannenbaum!!!
So here I am downloading all sorts of Christmas songs to
lift my spirits up after a tiresome graveyard shift. There are so many messed up
issues at the office that I just want to forget that I even have a job. Not
that I’m totally ungrateful for having one but me and my buddies at work
couldn’t agree more that we all need to quit our jobs. There’s so much still to
explore out there that we might as well start looking for greener pastures. So
cliché? I know. But that’s life. We all need to move on sooner or later. I do
love my job but there are unavoidable factors that just make me depressed when
I’m there. And that’s not healthy. I’ll spare you the drama by omitting all my lamentations.
I’ve considered going back to school. This time only for a couple of months,
just to get a certification to be a medical transcriptionist. A chance to
finally land my dream job – to work at home and get a generous compensation,
nevertheless. This is the next big thing and I might as well be prepared. I’ll
update you on this endeavor as soon as I take that leap.
