Who says Halloween is the only time to dress up? The Annual Christmas Party of the Barks & Co. was yet another success. For my new readers, Barks & Co. is my barkada, the ultra solid circle of friends whom I trust with all my life. I found them and have been with them for the past decade of my life. You could say they're like my brothers and sisters. Anyways, so this year's theme was MOVIE CHARACTERS. We were supposed to dress up as our favorite protagonist/antagonist of our favorite movies.
I didn't quite expect everyone to give it their best (although I couldn't hide the excitement as I prepared for the night!) and was very happy how the night turned out to be.
From last year's Hip Hop Theme to this year's Movie Buff theme!
Can you say "NO EFFORT" at all that? Hell no! Everyone got into it so bad that everyone actually looked good! Tee hee...
The Nacho Libre + Esqueleto tandem is everyone's #1 favorite that night. Can you really ignore these guys even if you wanted to? LOL!
OMGLMAOROTFPMPHTB!!!
Anyways, so I dressed up as Alice from Resident Evil and Noodle Boy was my James Bond. Uncanny pair, huh?
The other uncanny pair was Darth Vader and Tinkerbell!
Can you imagine? Anyways, here's Zorro and Helen of Troy...
And the only pair that actually looked like a real pair! Woody and Jessie of Toy Story!
Altogether now...
And here are some more costumes that night...
Jason X, Tweedledum/Tweedledee, Men In Black, and Sasuke Uchiha!!!
And now the group's pic...
Different people from different walks of life bonded together by friendship and trust. That's the Barks & Co.! But the true Christmas spirit is actually shown the following day.
Party the night before... and the next day, it was time to share some love. ;)
Neneng, a resident of Brgy. Looc, Linao, came to our house earlier that week asking for some donation for malnourished kids. We told her we'd go there ourselves and bring some food. She was so happy when we arrived, even though it was raining the whole afternoon.
My mom was telling me to let Archie wear his Nacho Libre costume, but I told her the kids won't recognize that character and will probably laugh their heads off like we did when we first saw him with the costume. HAHAHA!
The Barks & Co. each gave a contribution after the party and the money that was raised was used to cook chicken and spaghetti plus garlic rice (don't ask why spaghetti is eaten with rice over here), and we also bought some juice.
All in all, a great Christmas spent right here in the Home of the Queen Pineapples, Ormoc City.
How did you spend your Christmas guys? Share your stories in the comment section. Would love to read about it! :)
