Because I was not born to blend in, I was born to stand out!

As epic as the name of the lipstick is, it really is the most attention-grabbing of the bunch that I was able to grab from Sample Room. Anyways, moving into this review, HEADTURNER is a hot pink shade. For 30 years, I've never been overly fond of pink lips... or lipsticks in general. But when I decided to become a beauty blogger, I let go of my inhibitions and started wearing pink lipsticks. At first I was hesitant that it wouldn't complement my weird, uneven skintone. But boy, was I wrong. For about a year now, I find that I'm very drawn to bold and bright pink colors. Must be the subsconcious Barbie in me? Who knows.

Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick in Headturner is a flattering color that easily shows off your fun even flirty side even if you're not really that kind of gal during most days.  From Nicki Minaj to Emma Stone, it just shows ANYONE can pull off hot pink lips. I shouldn't be an exception because I think there's no hard or fast rule for wearing it.

Clearly among the 9 Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipsticks that I have in my lipstick army as of this post, HEADTURNER truly is my color because it reflects my personality the most. Why? Since I am an only child, I guess you could say I'm used to being the center of attention and attention-seeking perhaps comes naturally to me, not that I am exactly proud of it. (You'd think maybe it's because I'm an Aries?) But TBH, I really don't mind being in the spotlight. Not all the time though, but if there's a ship heading to bathe in the limelight, you can be sure that I'll be on that voyage before you could say, "Aye, Aye! Captain!" Heck, I'll probably be in first class or have my own suite, too!

I think there's a deeper explanation for my attitude, although I'm not trying to justify anything from my childhood, okay? I would just like to state that while growing up, my teachers trained us to be competitive and to rise and be the cream of the crop. I succeeded in overcoming any ounce of stage fright and during my academic life, I remember being the EMCEE or Master of Ceremonies countless times. And now that I've mentioned it, please allow me to say that I am actually feeling proud of that because it is an accomplishment for me. I've realized there are many who do struggle to speak in front of a crowd and have their voices be heard. My loud, sometimes boisterous, voice probably contributes largely as to why I am able to turn heads.


To make the long the story short, the Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick in Headturner is obviously a shade that best describes my personality. Not just the name of it but because in reality, it does cause people to double take and ask what lipstick you're wearing! I've never come across a more moisturizing, long-wearing, and very affordable lipstick that lives up to its name.

So for those of you who want to step outside your boundaries and try what it is like to be the center of attention (even if that's not your regular thing!), you can forego all other makeup and just swipe this hot pink shade on your lips and get ready to turn heads.

Depending on your lighting and camera settings, the color can turn into a lovely magenta.

And while we're at it, I have a few tips for ladies who are still wary of sporting this show-stopping pink color.

• As I mentioned above, go easy on your eye makeup if you want to wear the Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick in Headturner during the day. You can just simply line your eyes and skip the eyeshadow.
• You might want to skip the blush as well when wearing bright or hot pink lips. I recommend just a bit of highlighter and don't be heavy-handed. Contour, if you must. I know I do!

• #YOLO! While you can, wear pink lipstick! So... my hair is growing faster than I would have wanted it to and is now also growing a mind of its own which needs to be tamed. Nevertheless, I'm happy to say that after month's use of CYNOS tHAIRapy with argan oil, along with the shampoo and conditioner my hair has never been healthier. You wouldn't believe it was ever bleached to oblivion!

After frolicking in the sun and saltwater last weekend, these products did wonders to my hair. They were the first ones I made sure to pack inside my toiletry bag. Although currently I just have a bit of a problem with my hair sticking out in a lot of different directions. Since CYNOS Inside Hair Care have proven to carry products which are indeed worth the price you pay for, I gave their CAMOPASTE a chance and it certainly did meet my expectations.

I never used gel again on my hair ever since discovering it gave me dandruff back in college when I had my first pixie cut. Fast forward 5 years later and another pixie cut, I was introduced to waxes which happened to be effective in taming my hair, though it looked somewhat obvious that I placed so much gunk in my hair. Also I have a sneaking suspicion that caused my skin breakout! Then during my most recent pixie cut just last year, I was introduced to clay hair styling products which I found better because it's just like putting nothing on my hair, in addition to it effectively styling my golden mane exactly the way I want it.   Moreover, a teeny tiny bit of product is all that's needed!

This is all I need!

The trick is to get a small amount and rub it with your fingers and then style your hair using your fingers. The CAMOPASTE creates a matte look that's very natural. It's also very lightweight so you forget it's even there! Also it washes off easily... and note that I only shampoo my hair 2-3 x a week. However, I do use keratin treatment or condition it every day.

It feels rather sticky (almost like quick dry glue) and you need to work fast with the product.

Additionally, it does create thickness and separation so I look like I have more crowning glory than I actually do! Tee hee.

Putting Justin Bieber/Edward Pattinson/Miley Cyrus' hair products to shame.

There's only one thing I found a bit lacking -- the scent. It has a clean (almost unscented) scent, and something else... but I'm not sure if I'm smelling the paste or the plastic. I only wish it had a lemon scent or something citrusy 'coz I just happen to prefer products with that. But no biggie. Scent shment, it doesn't affect the awesomeness that is inside the tube of CAMOPASTE!

Overall, I think it's a terrific product and I see myself totally using this until my hair grows longer into a short bob. A month ago I dyed my hair with a color that I just recently discovered existed! I got it from a local beauty supplier for less than a hundred bucks. Not sure what the brand is or its history, reliability, and overall quality. The packaging itself has a typo! Goodness gracious! The grammar nazi in me was furious!!! But sticking to my NY resolution that I will try new things so I did!


LIGHT MATTE BLONDE. Matte. Not Matt. *rolls eyes*


As I was mixing it, I can't help but think of it as mayonnaise. LOL. I used just a 9% developer since I thought I'd be kinder to my hurrrr... Tee hee. Anyways, say hello and goodbye to my ugly dark roots.


I left it on for a little over an hour just to make sure I get the dark roots colored. I was hoping my hair would turn ashy or something because during application, it looked pretty dark on my hair.


The hair dye didn't seem to change the color of my already bleached hair; however, it did manage to lighten my roots to a very nice light brown almost golden shade. Whew! Finally taking a break from all the bleaching!


I like how the color blended in with my bleached hair and sometimes in different lighting it makes my hair look even naturally blonde. Haha! I get so many questions from friends and even random strangers as to what color is my hair. ^_^ Also, I really think this color is perfect for summer.

 

And here's what it looks like after a month. Darker roots already coming out. Ugh.

I'll give it another 2 weeks and then maybe color it again with the same LIGHT MATTE BLONDE shade or perhaps if I can find some other shade that's a lil bit darker but still great for summer, I'll try that next. Do you have any suggestions on what other colors I should try? Let me know!

The first one featuring dark eyeshadow colors using the crease cut technique in black and purple is quite daring so it's not really a wearable eyeshadow unless you work nights at a bar or an entertainer or if you're going to paint the town red on a girl's night out. Paired with bold red lips (Avon Ultra Glimmerstick in Brick Red with + MAC Charmed I'm Sure from the Marilyn Monroe collection) and a light pink blush (Colour Collection Color Intense Powder Blush in Rosy Affair), you're ready to go.

The second look for me is a fresh and dainty one which you can wear during the daytime or if you wanna look like a fairy goddess or something. Either way, this is the kind of look I usually put on using a highlighter (TheBalm Mary Lou Luminizer) and paired with a peach blush (Canmake Powder Cheeks) and pinkish nude lips (Avon Ultra Glimmersticks lip liner in Peach Envy and + MAC Freckletone).
