Today I bring to you a review of Fay Jardin's Hair Removal Cream and Whitening Cream for Knees & Elbows which I've been sitting on for a while now and just had the time to publish. My apologies for the somewhat delayed blog post. Anyway, let's get the ball rolling.

The Fay Jardin Hair Removal Cream can work for both males and females. Do note that men's hair is relatively thicker compared to women's. But of course, that's subjective and really differs for each individual. For our tests, I did the armpit hair removal, NoodleBoy did the facial hair removal, and my friend Mary Anne did the body/leg hair removal tests.

The product claims to be safe to use with SGS Certification and based on our personal experiences, we did not have any adverse side effects. No burning, itching, or redness afterwards. If you have any allergies with the product ingredients, you might want to ask a skin expert before using it or do some skin testing first. It does, however, have a very strong scent to it, kinda like a hair perm solution. It's unpleasant for me but tolerable. So I suggest using this outside and not in a closed room with no air vents or windows.

Ingredients: De-ionized Water, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Decyl Esters , Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate , Cetearyl Glucoside (and) Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride,  Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol , Sodium Polyacrylate, Steareth-21, Calcium Hydroxide, Lactic acid, L-Sodium Lactate, Potassium Hydroxide, 1.3-Propanediol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol , Fragrance.

The application is so easy and the results are pretty cool. I have used hair removal creams in the past, mainly out of curiosity instead of the need because I really don't have much hair to remove. I know the English product details and instructions may not be all clear on their website (understandable for products that are imported from Taiwan) so let me just break it down for you.

Steps as easy as 1-2-3:
1. Apply the product generously on clean skin. You want to cover up everything and get to the base of the hair shaft.
2. Depending on the thickness/coarseness of the hair to be removed, I find that the waiting time varies. But if you want a guide, it should be at least 30 minutes to make sure the product works its magic!
3. Simply remove with a spatula or tissues. We used a small plastic spoon to get the job done fast and easily!

I have been super busy the past weeks trying to juggle all my work and home schedule that I have been completely missing so much sleep (hello, graveyard shift, we meet again!) that it's not even funny. The adjustment period may have been easier 5 years ago but alas, time has caught up with me and I am not as young as I used to be. I just turned 32 though, got no shame in admitting that, but because I currently lead a fairly sedentary lifestyle, I am so not fit right now.

Anyways, moving on to this week's product highlight. And yes, there's a reason why I am telling you all that introduction. If you've read my recent blog entry about getting the new Crizal Prevencia lenses, then you know that I do value my health, my eyes in particular because without it, how am I supposed to work in the first place? So okay, do you remember how your parents or people who care about you tell you that you're not supposed to wash your face when you haven't had any sleep? I don't know the science behind that but there's no harm in taking precautions. (It really is better than cure, you know!)

So how am I supposed to wash my face without getting it wet?


TA-DAH! Introducing the all-new Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths!


Cetaphil is a product known for being recommended mostly to people who have sensitive skin especially babies. Although I think everyone agrees that Cetaphil is synonymous to gentleness and what better product to assure you of something like that!?

The fact that I need not wash my face after wiping all the makeup off and getting rid of the dirt before hitting the sack is something I really need. For me, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths definitely save the day (literally, because that's when I sleep!). It's non-comedogenic (yay, for acne-prone skin!), fragrance-free and pH balanced... and the best part is it's also opthalmologist-tested! Hurrayyy for my eyes!!! It was able to get rid of the waterproof mascara I was wearing, but then again I was just wearing a single coat. It did wipe off my concealer, foundation, and eyebrow gel completely! Plus it does contain soothing ingredients which make it possible to cleanse without stripping your skin dry and leaves it feeling fresh and clean!

Also since this product is pre-moistened, it's truly convenient and perfect for when you're out and about or when you're traveling... or if you have a son who refuses to eat without a tissue or napkin in his hand. I'm happy to say we are successfully bringing him up with proper table etiquette by using a napkin or tissue to wipe his face/mouth whenever he eats. Although being the little señorito that he is, he still wants to be spoon-fed. *rolls eyes*

So naturally, I had to try it and test it out (just finished the whole tube actually!) before I make my full review which you can read below. But first things first, I am writing my honest review based on my own experience and absolutely uninfluenced by anything. Okay, moving on.

The first thing I noticed about the Pantene Pro-V 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner is that it is a beefed up version of their already awesome Total Damage Care conditioner. I've used Pantene Pro-V on and off my whole life so I'm already a fan of them. Noodle Boy actually prefers this for his unruly mop of hair because it's the only thing that tames his curls. As much as we love the scent of the regular Pantene shampoo and conditioner, we both love the scent of this new 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner even more. Why? Because the combination of fresh wild strawberry and raspberry accord enveloped in a floral creamy heart underscored with warm vanilla is quite addictive! You really must try it yourself to appreciate the refreshing feeling that can only come from a fruity and floral scent combo. It's very delightful to the senses. But that's just my opinion though since I know some people may be sensitive to certain fragrances. You may or may not like it. Either way, you'll have to try it!

I don't know anyone who play with their hair as much as I do, so as far as damage is concerned I know where I stand. In order to keep brassiness out of my bleached hair, I have to tone it every now and then. And what better way to do it now than with the use of the Miracle Conditioner from Pantene! Using a semi-permanent dye like Manic Panic's Purple Haze, I now have a revised DIY purple toner.

Of course, if you only need to tone your hair, don't add in too much purple like I did because you'll end up with purple hair! You only need a little bit of the purple coloring to kill the ugly orange-y streaks. Keep in mind that the longer you leave it on, the more colored your hair will get. What I love about the collagen powder is that you can add it to any of your favorite drinks and even to soups if you wish. The powder turns jelly-ish when it comes in contact with liquid but dissolves shortly after. It smells fishy if you think about it but not in a bad way. There is also no after taste to me. It is recommended to take 1 or 2 sachets a day. I'm not entirely sure you can OD on a collagen supplement or any supplement for that matter, but I do know that it would be a waste of money if you took more than you need. So one sachet a day was enough for me. Hey, I'm not *THAT* old yet. Tee hee.

This drink, however, contains marine collagen so if you have shellfish allergies or something, I would advise to get a professional or expert consultation first. You know, just to be sure. Beauty products including supplements work on a case-to-case basis. For me, the Belo Collagen Powder Drink made it possible for my acne scars to heal so much faster and restored the youthfulness of my skin in a short span of time. Now I know what you're thinking. Do I really need that? Well, I'm not sure about the whitening part because that's not really my concern but since it has collagen and I've seen what collagen can do for me, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to try out some samples from Sample Room. After finishing the 2 blister packs I got, I can assure you that this product did not break me out. I've tried some gluta capsules in the past that ended very badly for me because not only did I flush money down the toilet (these madafaka are exxxpensive!), they also broke me out! When something does that for a prolonged period of time, then stop using such product. That's not purging anymore. It means you're not "hiyang" and you're better off looking for other options. Like I said, it's a case-to-case basis. So imagine how happy I was when Belo Glutathione + Collagen gave me no adverse effects. I couldn't say it whitened my skin because honestly, it would take a lot of glutathione capsules, whatever brand it may be, plus Vitamin C to really see some changes. That's the thing about whitening -- you can't rush these things because it takes time.

Over the years that I have basked under the sun during the sweltering heat of the summer season and only finding out later on and regretting having not taken any skin protection measures, I have learned quite an important lesson. I've been using these for a week now and let me just say that it's unlike any other whitening product out there. Since I was 15, I've been on a quest to obtain a lighter shade, not that I was particularly dark or anything. But since I practically live on a coastal area, the sea breeze and my frequent beach trips leave a lot to be desired. Armed with 15 years of experience when it comes to finding the best whitening product available to date, I can see clearly now the rain has gone what I need to do to protect my precious skin and save some glow for old age.

Everything I tried before left me either sticky or icky, which makes Gluta-C the "most light weight" skin whitening product for me. It simply means the consistency is thick but it blends into, well, almost nothing. It doesn't even feel like I'm wearing lotion at all, but my skin is not left dry which possibly means the product is being absorbed into my skin. The countless other "EXTRA" or "SUPER" whitening products I've tried in the past were always so hard to blend on my skin and felt so heavy that I reckon it's like wearing a ton of body paint on my skin!

I've been using it for a week now but I won't say I'm turning into Snow White. But as far as I can tell, I'm slowly getting back my NC25 skin tone. The best part of the Gluta-C body lotion really is that I am comfortable using this lotion even though the climate is truly exasperating this time of the year and no amount of A/C really makes one forget how humid it gets in the summertime here in the tropics.


To hasten the skin whitening, I paired this lotion with the Gluta-C body scrub. It reminds me of the sugar body scrubs I've been using before I decided to try this product. It has a nice smell to it that makes your bathroom smell like it's spring time. I like it!

3 is definitely better than 1!

I think perhaps its the papaya scent that makes it smell so good that I get the urge to taste it. But no, of course, I didn't. It says it's safe to use daily but since I don't have the luxury to spend that much time in the bathroom everyday, I've been using it every other day. I like the fact that the scrub doesn't hurt my skin and doesn't disappear or dissolve in just a matter of seconds like my sugar scrubs. The granules are there until you want to wash it off. So if you feel like you haven't scrubbed enough, then you can scrub yourself all you want! Tee hee. I've only used it about 4 x and used about 25%. Apparently, there's still so much product inside the 120-gram jar that will last a month if you use it every other day. Best of all, it retails for just PHP99.75. Using this body scrub is making the body lotion glide smoother on my skin. I am convinced this is truly helping the lotion get absorbed easily on my skin, thus making the intense whitening process work really well.

Now here's my TOP 5 SUMMER PRODUCTS to stay beautiful and fresh. As I've mentioned, years of experience took place to make me come up with this list. Your body will surely be grateful if you pack up these babies inside your beach bag.


1. Sunblock. I go with SPF 70! The ozone layer isn't what it used to be. Mother Earth is is growing old. Do yourself a favor. Just don't scorch that skin.
2. Lip balm. Because no one wants windburned lips. Hard lesson learned there.
3. After sun cooling gel. People like me burn so fast and I don't look forward to sticking to my sheets at night.
4. Whitening lotion. Of course, tans fade. But why not speed up the process? And while you're at it, nourish your skin with antioxidants like Vitamin C. Fortunately, you'll get just that from Gluta-C!
5. Body scrub. Who wants dead skin cells anyway!? My current HG body scrub is no other than Gluta-C.


There you have it! I may come off sounding so vain talking about skin and all, but trust me. You don't want skin damage or worse, skin cancer. *knock on wood* Simbako! My grandfather lived by the motto and always told us that "prevention is better than cure" which is why I think it really is better to be safe than sorry. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body. *Ahem* And it's probably the first thing that people you meet notice and certainly, you don't want to give the wrong impression.
