With Christmas in the air, it’s the season of
parties, and while your children may be running off for a Christmas party with
their little friends, you shouldn’t ignore your own needs. A night out with the
girls is bound to be appreciated, especially if you haven’t had the chance to
catch up with them for a while. Make it a little special at Christmas and treat
yourself to a new outfit, before booking you and the girls in for a slap-up
meal followed by a night on the tiles. Sounds good? You bet it does! Take a
look at these perfect party outfit ideas, tips and advice for choosing the best
outfit for you and your style.
First of all, ask yourself what type of
outfit you would like to wear. You need to pick out the basics of your outfit
and it’s best to have an idea before you head to the shops. Consider where
you’re going, what the plans are and how comfortable you need to be. Once you
know the type of thing you’re after, it’s time to go shopping.
Whether you’re after a party dress or trouser
outfit, the women’s
party dress and eveningwear sections of George can offer some fabulous
options that are also great value. While a dress provides the ultimate in femininity,
it’s not always the right way to go, especially if you’re not a dress kind of
person. Make sure you buy something that you will feel comfortable in. If
you’re looking for a dress, the Lace
Prom Dress for £20 would be perfect with some fantastic heels and a pretty
necklace to accentuate the neckline.
Choose an outfit that you will not only feel
comfortable in but will flatter your body shape, too. A party or a girl’s night
out is a perfect opportunity to glam yourself up and show off your curves. If
you choose not to wear a dress, remember that simple skinny jeans can look
incredible with a sequin top and a pair of killer heels.
Don’t forget the accessories! Compliment the
outfit without overwhelming it. If the outfit you have chosen is plain, you can
risk more statement accessories but if you have chosen a vibrant piece of
clothing, mute the accessories you choose. Earrings are always a great option,
while if you have a neckline to show off, or uncovered arms, a necklace and
bracelets will look amazing.
If you’re not used to wearing heels, don’t
start now! Trying to walk elegantly in huge heels when you have no experience
of doing so is a recipe for disaster – especially if you’re adding mulled wine
to the mix! If you do want to add some height, wedges are a good idea.
Alternatively, stick to what you know.
Finish the look with your favourite hairstyle
and make up, paint your nails and feel amazing. Save some pennies, grab your
clutch bag and head out for a night on the town. Enjoy the evening out with
your best girlfriends and celebrate the festivities in style!
