January - I was at the height of my quarter-life crisis, trying to get over it once and for all. Surprisingly and happy to report that I have! And in less than 12 months, I've been able to grasp the whole idea that life is indeed too short to stress yourself with people who don't even deserve to be an issue in your life.
February - I wrote my own Confessions of a Shopaholic... after which I realized I've been too extravagant, therefore, I need to get a hold of my finances... FAST! Okay, I haven't really accomplished this yet, but I"m getting there! Because I'm thinking that in 2010, I am going to get financial literacy through my thick skull. Wait for it. :)
March - I did the impossible. I cleaned my room. All by myself! HAHAHAHA! Damn proud of it! So whatever... *rolls eyes*
April - Since switching to Mac, I've become an evangelist for it. This was probably the next best thing that happened to me this year! What's the best thing? Well, I'll tell you in a bit.
May - Summer was in full throttle. The sun, the sand, the sweet smell of summer... And of course, I learned a lot about promises this time around. People shouldn't believe everything they read or hear. I started to use my head, which I think I'm getting good at now. Oh, feelings... nothing more than feelings.
June - I figured I was a little bit psychic.. or psycho. I actually wrote about goodbyes way ahead of schedule... but every story has an end, yet in life every end is just a new beginning. This was the pivotal moment of 2009 for me. Mid-year and it was getting better already! I was lost but I was found. And life is goooooood!
July - I lost someone dear and very important to me, who played a huge part in my life. But I understand the cycle and once again, I was reminded of how life is so short and that we need to make the most out of it.
August - More drama... more lessons learned. But instead of weeping, when a tragedy occurs in a songbird's life, it sings away its grief. I'm no songbird, okay? But I believe we could well follow the pattern of our feathered friends. Thus, we spread our wings and fly... This way if we get to the top, then we see things in a different perspective. :)
September - Time came when the phoenix rose from its ashes. RameNoodles was born. Unofficially but yes, I've found the one I've waited for... Well, actually I already did a LOOOOOONG time ago but I just didn't realize it. So there. This is the best thing that ever happened to me -- when I finally opened my eyes and saw the truth.
October - Change is inevitable so moving on was expected. I was standing up for myself, doing things on my own, using my head more, and making wiser decisions. All in all, life was totally unfolding beautifully.
November - Thinking more before acting is becoming a habit now. Noodle Boy showed me the way. I've always let my emotions get the best of me, but this time, I'm in control. I still get manic a lot but I'm learning the ropes. I think I'm growing up. Honest.
December - Ahhh. Tis the season to be jolly! So many reasons to celebrate the Holidays and most of all, the waiting is over. I feel complete now. I am ready to take on another year. Watch out, 2010, here I come!!!
There, I just highlighted my whole 2009 blog! :)
Now do you know the Ox symbolizes diligence, reliability, sincerity, strength and sound judgment? Well, I think 2009 has been good to me, the ups and downs I've been through led to what I am most thankful for really, which is FINALLY HAVING THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. :)
With that I give you this short prayer with a huge meaning for me:
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

...we were singing:
♪ There are places i'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends i still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life i've loved them all... ♫
and today we still sing:
♪ But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When i think of love as something new
Though i know i'll never lose affection

I know i'll often stop and think about them
In my life i love you more... ♫

I've kept journals for as long as I can remember... well, since third grade I think. I've been accustomed to writing in my "Diary" for my love of words. It didn't stop there. I've been trying to improve my handwriting ever since I learned how to hold a pencil but alas, lately, I think my penmanship isn't as good as it used to be. :( Woe is me!
Recently, as I was cleaning my room, I found a bunch of my old diaries dating back a decade ago. And scanning through the pages was more than just a trip to memory lane. It brought a mixture of all sorts of feelings I ever felt my whole life in just a few minutes and frankly, I couldn't stand it so I put them aside. Yet I was just too happy to find the poems I wrote and decided to keep them rather than throw them all out. If you're eager to know what really went on my mind over these years and want to keep them (as souvenirs?) when I die, let me know so I can write your name in my last will and testament. Guaranteed 100% good read! Tee hee.
I also got other "secrets" kept documented... not just my poems where I pour my heart out but also my secret recipes for example. ^_^
But I still ain't sharing it to the world! :P
I find it amusing how my handwriting changed over the years... and in a way you can really tell I haven't been writing as much as time went by...
1999
2001
2002 ~ Then I got lazy and started printing out my entries! ROFLOL!
2003
2004
Plus you can tell how I got all "digitalized" when I pasted printouts of my entries instead. LOL! And soon after that, I started keeping journals on my hard drive. Yep, I had this program called DiaryOne. It was pretty easy to use and I could insert pictures to make it like a digital scrapbook.
But... the unthinkable happened! What d'you say???
My computer crashed!!! Damn you Windozzzzzeeeee!!! And there goes all my memories -- gone forever. Boohoo! Now even though I got my Maki, I resolved not to keep a digital diary. When I have to write, I'll just blog. For personal entries, I'd rather grab a pen and paper. My penmanship really sucks currently. Illegible? By my standards, maybe. That's why I decided to go back journaling "old school"!
But from this:
To this!!!
So enter my first Moleskine! Yup, you read that right! MOLESKINE! I managed to save up for one... (Actually, it was another compulsive buy. Hehe!) So what's a Moleskine? A little intro... Ahem.
Moleskine is the legendary notebook that the European artists and intellectuals who made twentieth-century culture used: from Henri Matisse to the turn-of-the-century Parisian avant-garde, from Louis Férdinand Céline to Ernest Hemingway. Writer-traveler Bruce Chatwin picked up this tradition and made it famous.
A simple black rectangle with squared or lined pages, endleaves held by an elastic band, an inside pocket for loose sheets, a binding in 'moleskine' which gives it its name, this trusty, pocket-size traveling companion guarded notes, stories, thoughts and impressions before they turned into the pages of beloved books.
Chatwin used to buy his moleskine at a Paris stationery shop in Rue de l’Ancienne Comédie. He always stocked up on them before going off on one of his journeys. He had a ritual set up over the years -before using them, he numbered the pages, wrote his name and at least two addresses in the world with the promise of a reward in case they got lost. "Losing my passport was the least of my worries, losing a notebook was a catastrophe".
That quote really hit home! I can't imagine losing a notebook with all your heart poured out inside as well as your brilliant ideas all laid out. Now that's double unthinkable!!! No wonder they have THIS on the first page!
HAHAHAHA!! Totally brilliant!!!
And yeah, it really opens flat! Cool! I can't wait to fill up the pages! Weeee!!! So exciting!!! ^_^ I know I'll be buying more from avalon.ph! Gotta stock up on the Moleskines!!!
Now, if I can just find the right pen to use...
