I have been a premium member of Multiply.com since I joined back in 2005, because before Facebook took over the world of social networking, Multiply.com was the place for sharing pictures/blogs with friends. Also I got to meet a lot of online buddies there. You can then upload and download albums from Multiply.com and link it/host it from there to wherever. We also get to customize our sites with themes and we get to save hi-res photos on their servers, too. But alas, all good things must come to an end and sad to say, the end is here. I heard about this a week or so ago but just tonight I decided to check on Multiply and found the letter they sent most probably to all their users.

So the big question. How to download all photos from my albums? I have about 208 albums and I don't know, maybe a gazillion photos! It will take me 48 years to download it one by one! I don't have the luxury of time... Huhuhuhu. I also have photos in my blogs that are linked from Multiply.com and those will disappear, too. The very same thing that happened to my 2003-2005 blog posts with missing photos because those have been lifted from Friendster. :( I guess this means, I should start hosting photos from my own server, huh? I wonder if Photobucket will shutdown in the near future, too. That will be the end of my blogging life. Just kidding. Oh yeah, all my Imagecave photos have been deleted also to my dismay. Must find a picture hosting site that will last forever.

But really, it's very tiresome to migrate photos and download them individually since I can't find any browser extension that would work with Multiply.com which allows downloading of *all* photos. I really hope they are going to roll out some albums downloaders for Multiply.com pretty soon so I can save what precious memories of the past I've got in there, even though I'm not very keen on dwelling on them.

Still...

I'm a little bit remarkably devastated right now with the news. Meanwhile, I'm signing up for their e-commerce and will be putting up a store in Multiply.com just in case I do decide to start an online selling biz (e-commerce users are *still* safe with Multiply.com). You can never really tell what the future holds. ;)

UPDATE 09/15/2012:

You can now download all your files from Multiply (albums, journals, reviews, listings, recipes, what have you!) with their EXPORT tool. Follow the instructions below:

To properly use this page, depending on the browser you are using, follow these steps:

Chrome

1. Obtain the Download Master chrome extension.
2. Point your browser to this page
3. Click the download master button from in the top right of your browser and select 'All'
4. Click download, sit back and relax

Firefox

1. Obtain the DownThemAll! firefox plugin
2. Point your browser to this page
3. Right click anywhere on this page and select DownThemAll!
4. Select the items you would like to download (All by default) and click "Start!"

All other browsers

1. Download either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
2. Follow the steps above

I was able export my blogs to my other blogger account (http://mymariatv.blogspot.com) and I was able to download my videos, photos, etc. to my hard drive -- all 10,931 of it! It took almost a whole day to finish downloading those but all's well that ends well. ^_^ Goodbye Multiply. It was fun! Thank you for 7 years worth of memories and the friends (haters & posers also, LOL!) that I've made. Although I know I'll stick around the Marketplace for sure because nothing beats the deals we can find online!

Whenever I hear the word "scam" I would automatically raise an eyebrow then frown because the memory of the Havaianas scam I was a victim of back in 2007 comes flooding back in my mind. It's as if a dam breaks down and all of a sudden I can't help thinking about the 11K, which was a substantial amount then and even now, that I lost to a scammer! So yeah, when I read about a scammer, honestly my blood just boils. I tried not to read about scams after the incident as it only amps my insomnia but it really helps to be informed about these things. I feel truly sorry for people who get their trust abused and I especially feel sorry for the souls of the scammers who will forever be damned, imho.

A few days ago, I was doing my usual catching up with current events with my favorite iPad app, Zite. A post from Inquirer got my attention. I was glued to where I was sitting (which was the toilet, I know, TMI) but I couldn't stop reading about the PHP500M Birkin Scam. If you don't know about yet, then I suggest you check it out.

Hot items are usually a big thing for these scammers. I really don't know what goes inside the head of a scammer but they must not be totally criminal minded because they leave digital footprints. I mean, if there's anything that I learned from watching a marathon of the first season of CBS' Person of Interest, it's that if you post something online, at this day and age, it makes it so much easier for people especially the authorities to find you. I admire those private people who have so much restraint in being involved with computers and the Internet. I, on the other hand, have a life like an open book. You can even read between the lines.

Anyways, this whole scam/scandal reminds me of the one just a few months ago that involved a certain Angela Maureen Estandarte Directo who scammed about PHP50M of Apple products. Now we all know how hot these items got recently! As posted by Technoodling.net (one of my favorite tech blogs), let's be wary of buying stolen goods as Apple products can actually be traced and who wants to own an item that will sooner or later be taken away from you? Okay, well, you get the idea.

Oh look! An Apple Fangirl! This scammer even has an Apple logo tattoo! Tsk tsk tsk!

So let's get back to the more recent issue, the Birkin Scam. I'm not really a big fan of gossip, even celebrity news don't really tickle my fancy. But somehow, I do want to look at the face of this scammer who deleted her Twitter account very recently. It seems that she has been identified already by a lot of concerned parties and there are even blogs about her and lots of interesting comments to boot! Now I can't show you her face here but if you are like me who knows how to dig deep in the internet, you might just be able to catch a glimpse of this flight stewardess turned social climber and eventually a scammer. ARGGGH. The thought just irks me so much. So allow me to post some photos of @sje429 that I found online; however, since she is not yet convicted of her alleged crimes, I blurred her face.

If I were a scammer, I would NEVER allow photos of me to be posted in the web! Pfft.

Social climbing seems to turn a person into a scammer.

Okay, so I'm affected even though I really don't get how she was able to dupe all those people just for some bags, jewelry, and art. Forgive me but those are not items that you'll ever find in any of my wish lists. Show me a Birkin and it will look to me the way non-computer savvy people deem html codes akin to LOL or BRB, so it's just a bag. Heck, I don't even own a wallet now! But I digress. I was once scammed for flip-flops, so who am I to judge. Tee hee.

If it really turns out that @sje429 is the Birkin Scammer, then I hope they catch her and make her pay for all her transgressions. I mean, I lost 11K and it almost drove me crazy... just imagine the folks who lost 11M to her! Que horror! But hey, karma's a bitch.

You know, I've always thought scammers to be males. Like the Havaianas scammer who went by the name of QUINTIN REYNOSO and got more or less 100K from all of us (yup, there was a whole lot of us!). But I'm pretty sure that was a false name s/he used. I'm now convinced that scammer was a woman! And in the light of these events.. umm, Filipina scammers??? I bet there's a lot more others on the prowl out there. Particularly those who want to keep up with the Joneses and this one other particular story I have which seems to be heading in that direction.

Oh God why... But I sure hope I don't get to read another Filipina scammer story any time soon.

Because I'm too vain for my own good, so I don't really have a bad thing to say about myself. HAHAHA! For real... I've worked hard to gain this much self-confidence (ego?) while growing up and my self-esteem is intact until now. (THANK GOODNESS!) So if there's anything AT ALL that I dislike about myself, it's being born WITHOUT a silver spoon in my mouth. I don't blame anyone, not my parents nor my own self. It's just that at the rate that the economy is going, I don't really think much of a bright future ahead -- financially. I'm quite content with my life now so I don't really mind being part of the 99%. I just try to live each day, one at a time, doing the best I can and working on the things I love, spending time with the people who matter to me, and living life with no regrets. :)  AMEN? AMEN!!!

It's true that pregnancy hormones can either make you euphoric at one time or drive you mad the next. It's crazy and it's something I really wasn't prepared for. But I love it, nonetheless. It's awesome to be able to experience this miracle of the creation of life and there really isn't any feeling that can compare. Not even the most orgasmic of all foods that I have tasted throughout the years. Not even that thrill of discovering something online, the smell of the unboxing of an Apple product, or finding a really good deal or 70% off discount while shopping.

But most of the time because of weight gain, back pains, and swollen feet, it's highly recommended that you not mess with a pregnant woman. She could burst into tears randomly or kill you in the next five minutes. Take my word for it. Pregnant women have no filter. And now my give-a-damn's even more busted especially that I'm almost about to pop.

Before I do just that, I have decided to get pictures taken. And not just the normal kind of taking pix to monitor your growing belly each month. My photo enthusiast friends agreed to do a maternity/pregnancy photography with me. Lucky me, Mami!!! Whooopeee!!!

Pregnancy is truly an amazing thing. But it comes with a lot of symptoms. Now if you don't have anything good to say about my photos, then just shut the hell up because I don't want anyone ruining my beautiful memory and how I felt at the very moment when I had these pictures taken. It's like I've never felt more beautiful and sexier my entire life.
