Review: Naturactor & How To Cover Up Acne/Blemishes

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

I've been getting a lot of questions about this one so I want to show you guys how I cover up my acne and blemishes using the famous Naturactor Cover Face from Meiko Cosmetics, Inc. in Japan. This is gaining popularity due to celebrities here in the Philippines promoting this product. This concealer-slash-foundation comes in various shades for different skintones but I personally use Naturactor #140 and #171. I have medium to fair skin with yellow undertone.

Naturactor #140 and #171
What is Naturactor Cover Face for?
  • To cover pigmentation, scars, blemishes, acne, and eye bags. It covers up my tattoos, too!
  • To protect the skin from UV rays which can cause pigmentation.
  • To make skin feel soft, smooth, and beautiful.
What it claims...
  • Easy to use and non-sticky.
  • Holds up to 8-12 hours (case-to-case basis)
  • Does not clog pores.
  • Used by professional makeup artists.
  • Suitable for shows, weddings, photoshoot, etc. for natural and flawless makeup.

You can buy this from your favorite online seller, Amazon, or whoever sells products from Japan. I got mine from a friend who was selling goods from Japan for only Php 700. A jar contains 20g of the product so I'm guesstimating this should last me a long time because you only need just a little bit for cover up.

Single swipe, amazing coverage by Naturactor
It gives you a near perfect skin and hides blemishes and scars really well. It is not drying and not oily either. It does not cake up like other concealers that I've tried. It is really an HG product for me. Don't believe me? See for yourself.
Naturactor before and after cover face concealer 140 and 171 review
After moisturizing my face, I used a Beauty Blender to apply Naturactor #140 and #171 to my blemishes and acne scars. You can still see some blemishes as I only applied it thinly. If you layer it some more, I believe you can get FULL coverage. IMHO, that is ideal for photoshoots. It really doesn't feel heavy on the face, that much is true.

You can also use your clean fingers or a concealer brush. I find it easier to just dab it on specific areas using my fingers. A Beauty Blender or a damp sponge is best used for applying Naturactor Cover Face for dark circles under the eyes as it gives really neat and flawless finish.

Then I got my mineral foundations and powder to set it using a kabuki brush.

I used a bronzer to contour my face and for shading because the concealer/foundation makes my face rather white. Maybe I should get Naturactor #151 for shading, huh? Anyway, I'll continue to use this and update this post if I get any breakouts or other undesirable effects. As of now, I'm truly happy with it and it is one of the best purchases I've made as far as beauty is concerned.

OVERALL RATING:

I can't give it 5 stars because it's not available locally and the cost of buying varies from seller to seller. Have you used Naturactor or are you planning to buy it? UPDATE!!!

151 is perfect for blemishes!
I realized that the 151 is better at covering up blemishes. So now I'm using the 3 shades. First, I use the green concealer (171) to cover up redness and active acne, then I apply the darker concealer which is the 151 over the acne and blemishes as well as my under eye. I also use it as contour and the 140 I use as a highlighter and put it also over my blemishes. It looks way much better this way. See photo below:

SEPTEMBER 2013: I broke out like a mofo thanks to PMS and chocolates. So here's an updated post using Naturactor concealers to hide my pimples.
